The do’s and mostly don’ts of meeting scheduling.
In case you missed it, last week a heated debate erupted on Twitter about meeting links. That’s right, it’s 2022 and even scheduling a meeting is now controversial.
Let’s get this out of the way first: if you feel like it’s not worth the effort to click on a link to schedule a meeting, chances are you shouldn’t be taking that meeting in the first place.
One thing that is an issue, however, is what happens once you’ve sent somebody your scheduling link. Having worked in sales and partnerships at a remote company for the past two years where I had to meet with countless strangers, I feel like it’s time to share some of the bad habits you’ll see online.
Here are five types of Calendly Creeps I’ve seen in the wild:
👻 The Ghost
Every time the meeting comes close, they reschedule without a word. Be like a genie, once you granted three wishes to reschedule just pull the plug and keep communication asynchronous.
